Dear Parents and Players,

It's time to start thinking about baseball! In particular, it is time to get ready for Winter-ball as well as planning on a date to register for the upcoming season.

*NEW* Umpire Clinics are scheduled for our players on Sunday March 4, at 9am at AE Perry Elementary, 1380 Sherbrooks Ave. This is a great opportunity for our players to have fun and earn some extra money during the season. Players should bring a bag lunch to the clinic.

Level 1 - 1st and 2nd year umpires only - Cost $25.00. 6 hours of Instruction.
Level 2 - 2nd year umpires and higher - Cost $50.00. 7.5 hours of Instruction.

Winter-ball will be starting up the second week of January with all age groups from Mini-Tad to Midget having the opportunity to practice for about 10 weeks. Full details regarding dates, times and locations are listed at the end of this message. Those players hoping to play in our more competitive stream programs should try to attend a few Winter-ball sessions as the Spring tryouts are completed over a fairly short period of time.

New members are welcome!

Not only are they welcome but if you are a new member to KMBA you will be reimbursed for the Winter-ball session when you register for the Spring season in February (you must produce your Winter-ball receipt). To register for Winter-ball simply show up at the venue and submit your fee. New members will need to fill out a registration form for insurance purposes.

Registration for the upcoming Spring season will be held at the McArthur Island Sports Centre on Feb. 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Late registrations will only be accepted based upon availability. When registering remember to ask about the BLE camp held each year at the beginning of the season. Please remember to indicate whether you are interested in coaching (we are always in need of more help on the fields) when filling out the forms. We will be offering a coaching clinic during the BLE camp in April and hope to continue to offer peer support throughout the season. Umpires are also needed and this is an area where the association is always hoping to see more participation. If you are interested in helping out please let us know - there will be a umpire clinic early in the spring.
